Best Before is designed to save you food and money.An average family of four currently tosses out an estimated $590 (£373) of wasted food per year! (UA Bureau of Applied Research in Anthropology). Not only that, it has serious environmental implications too!I designed Best Before to track when your food goes off and to alert you before this happens so you can use it before its too late. Using your smartphones camera it is possible to scan the barcode of a product and add it to a list of food you have. Keep track of whats in your fridge, cupboard or anywhere else!Features:# Automatic Name Discovery - scan the barcode and the app will try and find the product name. Useless. I tell it I have 12 Oxo cubes and it makes 12 entries for them instead of one entry with a quantity of 12. I can't even get a refund because it 'not supported by Google Play policy'
Not too happy with this app. There is much to improve. Such apps should have a quantity field When a person buys quantity 24 of the same item, they have to be entered one by one especially when Barcode is not recognized. This App should have the facility to enter quantities.

Notifications no longer working after update. If you swipe right on an item you delete it. There is a short undo period so if you accidentally swipe and dont notice there is no way to retrieve deleted items. The app worked before the update.
Hi, i just want to know how i can restore a backup after the update? I have a new telephone now and need to restore it. There is no help option anymore in the menu?
Great app to track best before dates. Hate throwing gone off food away, so love this. So easy with scanner to add items.
I can't find a place to delete item I have already used. I would like to have itemize categorized by time. I like the scanner it is helpful.
This is exactly what I was looking for, works a treat and scans 90% of my stuff.
I work for a major retailer, in the meat department, this app is incredibly useful to stay on top of out of dates. I am excited that you are working on sharing between devices and accounts, this would put the app over the top! Thank you for the great app!
